So I did it. I am now registered for a Half Marathon. I am nervous and scared and excited and happy. Nervous and scared because ...What the ----- am I doing!!??? Excited because I told myself a year ago that I couldn't even run a mile ( and was told differently) and here I am preparing to run 13.1 miles. Happy because I know that with a lot of work and determination I am setting myself up for success and my family up for success as well. I need to be an example to my little girl and boy, they deserve not to be overweight when older. My son gave me a hug about a year and a half ago and was excited because he could put his arms around me, the other day he did the same and said" Look at all this room I have on the other side, pretty soon I will be able to give you a double hug!" Wow that is enough to make me want to push harder! I want to see what my body is capable of.
If anyone reading this is waiting to lose...dont. If anyone is saying I cant do it....you can. I am nothing special. I still have weight to lose and 45 lbs is a lot to lose. I wish I had gotten started earlier. I wish I hadn't waited. This is fun!

I made a sign for the last marathon we went to to cheer on a friend. It said " You had the courage to come, you have the strength to finish!"
Committing to change takes courage. You continue to show us and yourself how courageous you are! And you have the strength to finish whatever you start!
One of my life regrets will be not finding the courage to change sooner, waiting 10 years to change...but I did, and you are, and life IS so much funner!!
You are a wonderful example, not only to your children, but for all of us!
