I have been wanting to do this run for a while, but have kept putting it off. I usually run down on the waterfront on Sunday because there are not any hills and is safe even in the early morning. I have a running partner now! She has done this one a couple times now but I have not been able to go with her. Today, I did not go in the morning, the kids had a difficult time with me leaving and it was an exhausting day yesterday. I know excuses! So after meeting I came home did some house stuff and ....took a nap. (Very unmotivated!) I knew I would not be happy with myself if I did nothing all day so I set off for the gym and ended up here.
I love the bridge! I am not a huge fan of driving over it (old stories) but I love that it is part of Washington. I love that on a beautiful day like today it is peaceful (minus the cars driving past). The whole run is just over 4 miles from the War memorial park, to Gig Harbor on the other side of the bridge. I had fun with the camera as I was moving.
This was on the other side, the Gig Harbor side. I was so happy that I got out of the house! You know at the time that it feels so good to move. I wonder often if I could bottle some of this up and sell it if more people would get moving. It is hard to describe how making your body hurt can feel so good. Maybe because it makes the normal aches and pains go away, you know the ones that happen from sitting for to long. I
don't like that feeling anymore!
I had a picture of the mountain as well, I might have to load it alone I have grown up here, and while I would love to live somewhere warmer and less wet sometimes. Washington in the spring and summer might be the most beautiful place I know! ( It would be nice if there were a few less hills to run on though....even the bridge is not flat!)
