New Shoes

I really did go buy new shoes (no meeting tonight). Coolest story, I went to Fredmeyer to see what was there. These were the last pair of this style and they were in my size. ( I like New Balance for my ankles) They were on clearance for $50 dollars...hmmmm. Got up to the check stand and they took another $20 off. Gotta love it!
I had my feet tested because of my ankles. New Balance in this syle was recommended.

First Mile

I was talking to a patient today he is running in Spokane this weekend in a run that includes a hill called Doomsday Hill....scary. He gave me some advice including getting some running shoes (would appear that I am training with weighted feet). He also said that the first mile is the hardest. I wanted to be at 3 miles by tomorrow so I could focus on my time for the next month. So this weekend I will do 3.2 miles. Off to buy new shoes!

Great Week

This has been a great week! The weather has been spring like (a whole week with no snow, and no freezing temperatures) We were outside doing exercise everyday but Thursday (I had a talk) and I lost for the third strait week, I am thrilled. My goal this week is to hit the 2mile mark on my run...seems so far. I need to push myself a little harder so that is also my goal for the week. I will let you know how it goes.
Last week I added fruits and some vegetables to all my meals...amazing! It definitely helped with my sweet tooth. My new favorite treat..mint skinny cow ice cream sandwich. I have tracked all my food this week and made a huge effort to not eat after 7pm. Some changes have been difficult, but worth it. I really saw a difference in the way I think when I write things down.
So I know this is boring but again some things I need to do just for me. Hope you all have a great week as well.

New Favorite

This weekend has been beautiful! We walked yesterday 4 miles and today I ran 2 miles and then walk a mile with the girls. I might have a new favorite place to walk/run. Chambers Creek properties (Is this the place you were talking about Jim?) It is awesome I can't wait to take the family there. They will love it. I'm thinking this summer will be a very active outdoors kind of summer! Above are some pics from our walk yesterday.

New Look

I have been thinking a lot about this blog lately. I almost deleted it. I think I have lost the meaning of what I was doing with it when I started it. I love my family, my friends, and my work but I havn't given myself the courtesy to love myself. I wonder at what point a person says to themselves that they are not important enough to take care of herself. I wonder at what point in my life did I say that about myself.
When it comes to weight loss I do it. I get on my case, I tell myself that I cant do things or rather that I don't want to. I chew myself out if I have a bad eating day. I say things to myself that I would never say to anyone else especially my best friend. This is what is holding me back from something great. Ever wonder what would happen to our friends if we said all the negative things to them that we say to ourselves. How to fix it?
I am choosing to help myself. I can do wonderful things. I am a great friend to have. I need to be that great friend to myself. I will put myself ahead of my stress at work. I am not a strong mother if I do not take care of myself. I need to love myself and the things that I am doing for myself.
This is difficult stuff for me and putting it out here for all to see is a big thing. I am opening myself up and it is very uncomfortable for me. I hear uncomfortable is a good place to be...we will see!

My son

As a mom I hope some day my boy will grow up to be a loving man. I hope that he will choose to love someone with his whole heart. I hope that I have done all I can to show him what love is and what it means. That a simple gesture can make your heart swell with pride and adoration. That reaching out to others while sometimes getting hurt is the only way to receive love.
My son bought me flowers. He did it without being prompted. He did it to see me smile. The joy in his face I will never forget! The pride in my heart can not be erased.
